The LMCC has a number of committees some of which are outlined by the Joint Powers Agreement. All directors of the LMCC meet quarterly, however, the LMCC Executive Committee meets on the months the Full Commission does not meet. The responsibilities of the Executive Committee are included in the Joint Powers Agreement and the committee conducts most of the business of the commission. The Commission has also established a number of working committees to carry out the tasks of the commission:
Budget Committee: Carries out the responsibility of overseeing the preliminary budget which goes to the cities for approval every year as specified in the Joint Powers Agreement.
Community Television Committee: Meets with studio staff to learn about the needs of the programming and operations departments. They may make recommendations to both the Executive Committee and Budget Committee regarding the capital budget and other studio needs.
Mediacom Customer Service Committee: Monitors cable company outages and their technical requirements under the franchise agreement for service such as call center requirements.
Mediacom Franchise Renewal Committee: Has begun the process of franchise renewal. This is established as a three-year process and involves some procedural guidelines to accomplish.
Personnel Committee: May oversee such projects as reviewing personnel policies, overseeing benefits packages and consulting on other personnel matters.
